Flight from Singapore to Penang

We flew by Tiger Airways (again!) from Singapore to Penang as it was the cheapest option available for the period of time we was traveling.

We paid a total of $358 for our seats (2 humans + 1 tiger, inclusive of taxes, convenience fee and seat choosing fee), without check in luggages as it is supposed to be a short trip.

Departure Flight
Departure: 0810 at Changi Budget Terminal
Arrival: 0950 at Bayan Lepas International Airport (Penang's International Airport)

Return Flight
Departure: 1020 at Bayan Lepas International Airport
Arrival: 1140 at Singapore Budget Terminal

For the first time, we were allocated the emergency seats! Hurray to extra leg space! We must have looked very muscular and strong during our check in *flex muscles*!

Look at the amount of leg space! Even Papa's long legs cant touch the seats in front!

Photobucket
Actually it doesn't matter at all to me. I cannot even reach the edge of the seats lying down. But as a premium member of Tiger Airways (for being a tiger myself), I have a seat of my own again! :):)

Really, the only downside to travelling is that I have to go through the bag scan everytime. Every. Single. Time.

View from our seat. I love sunny days~

A short 1 hour 40 minutes flight and here we are!

Out from the Arrival Gates. The design of the airport is really strange I feel as there isn't a separate Arrival and Departure area. Feels like a crowded bus station.

The walk to the immigration counters

Local Bank!

To get a Taxi, we went to the taxi counter right outside the Custom Check Point. Just turn right after exiting the checkpoint. Just look out for the green station and long queue.

Photobucket
While queuing we noticed there is a huge crowd outside the airport (this airport is definitely busy) and there are many people dressed in their religious costumes. A hint: The boxes in front contains dates (food).

Photobucket
On the right of the taxi stand is a jewellery store which sells diamonds *blings*

Photobucket
The rates are clearly stated on the board. Just tell them where you are going and they will issue you a ticket.

Photobucket
This is the ticket I was talking about. We paid RM44.70 for Lebuh Chulia (Georgetown).

Photobucket
During normal occasions, you can follow the queue for taxi on the right of the exit. But for our case...

Photobucket
Unlikely not. The whole airport is flooded with people! The pick up point is not accessible :(

Photobucket
Great Penang Sale?

Photobucket
After walking around aimlessly trying to locate a place where we can use the taxi coupon and making 2 friends from Japan, 1 from Hong Kong (who were as confused as we are), we finally found a "queue" in the midst of the crowd.

Photobucket
Ahh~ Nice blue skies!

Photobucket
Finally we are on our way out of the airport! So all you need to do is to hand the coupon to the Taxi driver. He is suppose to keep half of the coupon and you can keep the other half as customer copy. But ours just took the entire coupon (oh wells).

And so, it turns out that many devotees are returning from their Pilgrimage in Mecca. As Penang Airport is one of the few international airports in this area, many people drove here from places like Ipoh to fetch their love ones home.

And for the way home....

Happy will miss Penang~

We got help from Yeng Keng to call for a cab to the Airport for departure.

Photobucket
At the airport queueing up for check in. Remember to be there early! As the queue to the check in counter could be quite long.

Photobucket
Here is our plane!

Photobucket
We did not get the emergency seats this time round though :( Maybe all our muscles are converted to fats after eating non stop for 3 days!!

Photobucket
Meow! I cant wait for the next trip!
